Bet you're thinking I am talking about the time. Nope. Sorry, couldn't resist.
We're fasting again; with hundreds, maybe thousands of others. On Wednesday, we will again join with some warriors from Linny's blog at A Place Called Simplicity to pray and fast for God to move on behalf of orphans and many other needs, as expressed by her readers.
This time though, DH will join me and it just so happens that our church leadership has also called for a time of prayer and fasting. Our church needs a new pastor since ours left over the summer to follow God's leading. He will be a tough act to follow. But God (there are those words again!) has a plan and He'll take this church where He wants to take it -- as long as we let Him.
So, if you join us in prayer and fasting could you remember our church and, on a more personal note, pray for our upcoming travels and especially our new child. And, if you feel outgoing, put a comment below and let me know you are praying, too.
Our lil' one will go through so much pain. I pray that she will bond with us quickly and even, in her heart, she will see our love and commitment through her pain. My heart continues to ache for her losses.
Imagine....
8 weeks from now, you go live with a stranger.
4 weeks later you go to another stranger.
6 months later, there's yet another stranger.
4 months later, yet another one.
You live with this new stranger for just over a year.
You're happy, warm, fed and well cared for. This
one isn't so much a stranger anymore. Maybe you
decide to trust this one just a little.
And then more strangers show up, whisk you away
to places you have never seen, speaking a language
you have never heard with strange smells and
stranger foods.
And they say they are forever.
After all of this,
What does FOREVER mean anyway?
